2. Scope & Relationship to the Terms

This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our website and game platform (the “Service”). Read this together with our Terms of Service.

3. Data We Collect

• Account data: username. If you choose to provide it: email address.
• Gameplay data: match IDs, timestamps, opponent, words typed/correct, accuracy, WPM and other performance stats needed to verify fair play and determine results.
• Technical logs: we may record IP address and user agent for security, rate-limiting and anti-cheat.
• Payments: if you connect a wallet or transact in SOL, we process the public wallet address and transaction metadata necessary to operate deposits/withdrawals. We also store metadata for bonus tiers and affiliate payouts to calculate rewards and comply with anti-abuse rules.
• Auth storage: we do not use tracking cookies; we store an authentication token in localStorage to keep you signed in.

4. How We Use Your Data (Legal Bases)

• Provide the Service: create/maintain accounts, run matches, show stats. Legal basis: performance of contract.
• Fair play & anti-cheat: detect bots, fraud, collusion, and verify outcomes. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
• Support & communications: respond to requests, send service notices. Legal basis: performance of contract.
• Marketing: optional newsletters or updates (only if you opt in). You can unsubscribe anytime. Legal basis: consent.
• Security & compliance: prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations. Legal basis: legitimate interests / legal obligation.

5. Email Communications

We may send transactional emails (e.g., account or match notices). Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email.

6. Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting, email delivery, security/anti-abuse tooling). They may only process data under our instructions and must protect it appropriately. We may also share data as required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a corporate transaction.

7. International Transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.

8. Retention

We keep account and gameplay logs for as long as you have an account and for up to 90 days after deletion for security/anti-fraud and backups, unless a longer period is required by law.

9. Your Rights (EEA/UK)

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise rights, contact support@typepvp.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring). No online service can be 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

11. Children

The Service is for users 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12. Cookies & Local Storage

We do not use tracking cookies. We store an authentication token in localStorage to maintain your session. If you clear storage or log out, the token is removed.

13. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
